The Smarter Way to Practice Golf (If You Only Have 60 Minutes)

Most golfers go to the range with good intentions… but no real plan.

They hit a few wedges, a few irons, smash a driver, then head home wondering why their scores never seem to improve.

The truth is simple:

Random practice produces random results.

If you want to improve your golf swing, lower your scores, and strike the ball more consistently, your practice needs structure.

That’s exactly why I created my 60-Minute Golf Practice Plan.

It gives golfers a clear, simple system to make every practice session productive.

But before you download it, let’s look at what effective practice actually looks like.

Why Most Golfers Don’t Improve

The biggest problem I see when coaching golfers is this:

They spend too much time hitting balls and not enough time improving their swing.

Many players fall into the trap of:

• Rapid-fire ball hitting

• No focus on strike quality

• No understanding of ball flight

• Practising the wrong things

Improvement doesn’t come from hitting more balls.

It comes from understanding how the swing actually works.

Once you understand the key fundamentals — things start to click.

The 3 Things Every Practice Session Must Include

If you want your practice to actually transfer to the golf course, every session should focus on three key areas.

1. Solid Contact

Great golf starts with great strike.

Learning how the club interacts with the ground and ball is essential for consistent iron play.

Most amateurs struggle because they:

• scoop the ball

• hang back in the swing

• fail to compress the golf ball

Fixing strike alone can transform your ball striking.

2. Ball Flight Control

Golf becomes much easier when you understand why the ball curves.

Two key factors control the golf ball:

Club face direction (controls start direction)

Swing path (controls curve)

Once golfers understand this relationship, they can start to shape shots and eliminate common problems like slices and pulls.

3. Speed and Release

Distance doesn’t come from swinging harder.

It comes from loading and unloading the golf club correctly.

When the swing works as a lever system, the club can accelerate naturally through impact.

This is how great players generate effortless power.

The 60-Minute Practice Plan

To help golfers practise the right way, I created a simple 60-minute structure that focuses on the areas that actually improve your game.

The plan includes:

✔ A clear warm-up routine

✔ Strike drills for consistent contact

✔ Ball flight understanding

✔ Speed and release training

✔ A structured session you can repeat every time you practise

It’s designed to make sure every ball you hit has purpose.
